About
Jan-Malte Ziegenbein is a Part-Time Lecturer at the Department of Egyptology and Coptology within the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Göttingen. Holding an M.A. in Egyptology, Coptology, Ancient Near Eastern Studies, and Theology, he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Coptology under Prof. Dr. Heike Behlmer and Dr. Frank Feder.
Research interests include Egyptian language history, ancient biographies, Coptic Bible transmission, codicology, palaeography, and digital editions of Egyptian texts. He also explores Egypt's reception in new media and video games.
- Contributed to the Digital Complete Edition and Translation of the Coptic-Sahidic Old Testament.
- Associated with the Qumran Lexicon Research Unit and the Seminar for Ancient Near Eastern Studies.
- Editorial role in the Wissenschaftlicher Literaturanzeiger (WLA) since February 2020.
