Frank Feder is Senior Academic Researcher and project leader of the Complete Digital Edition and Translation of the Coptic Sahidic Old Testament at the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Trained in Egyptology and Classical Philology at Berlin, Lyon and Halle, he has spent thirty years reconstructing, editing and digitising Coptic biblical manuscripts, producing critical editions of Jeremiah, Lamentations, Baruch and the Psalter, and developing open-access tools for Coptic lexicography and textual criticism.

Research interests span Coptic Bible translation, Septuagint textual history, Greek–Coptic language contact, digital manuscript reconstruction, and the cultural history of Egyptian Christianity. His work combines codicology, philology and computational methods to create comprehensive digital corpora of the Sahidic Old Testament.

Feder leads an international team, organises the 2026 Göttingen International Congress of Coptic Studies, and has co-edited multiple conference volumes and special journal issues that set current standards for Coptic biblical studies.
