Jan Dethloff

Jan Dethloff serves as Professor of Business Administration specializing in Logistics and Program Director for Business Administration and Dual Study Programs at Bremen University of Applied Sciences within the School of Business Studies. His academic work integrates quantitative business administration methodologies with practical applications in logistics and production systems.

His research focuses on advanced logistics optimization, particularly in Reverse Logistics, Environmental Logistics, and Vehicle Scheduling, utilizing Operations Research techniques to address complex supply chain challenges. This work emphasizes sustainable resource management and ecological efficiency in transportation systems, with significant implications for circular economy models and carbon footprint reduction.

Professor Dethloff has received multiple prestigious recognitions including the Bosch-Best-Paper-Award for eco-oriented vehicle routing research, consecutive Teaching Awards for excellence in both English and German-language instruction, and multiple presentation prizes from the Verein für Socialpolitik sponsored by major institutions including the German Federal Bank and BMW.
