Jan A. Velimsky

Jan A. Velimsky is a Researcher at the Chair of Political Systems and European Integration within the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute of Political Science at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He also works at DIALOGIK (Gemeinnützige GmbH) as part of the EU-funded HiDALGO project since 2019.

Education:

• Bachelor's in Social Sciences
• Master's in Empirical Political and Social Research at the University of Stuttgart

His research focuses on the social stratification of political participation, representation and inequality in local politics, political demands of marginalized groups, and information/disinformation dynamics in social networks. His work combines empirical analysis of local governance with theoretical inquiries into democratic equity.

His publications examine topics such as local electoral disparities, African migration drivers, and socioeconomic exclusion of long-term unemployed individuals. Current projects include developing a doctoral thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. André Bächtiger (University of Stuttgart).
