Jamie Lewis is a Reader in Sociology at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, specializing in Science and Technology Studies (STS), public understanding of science, and medical sociology. Current research includes the ESRC-funded Expert Citizen Science project and a collaborative book on Bigfoot research. Editorial responsibilities include serving as an editor for Qualitative Research journal.
Research interests span: developments in qualitative methodology; science/pseudoscience boundaries; biomedical knowledge sociology (particularly genetic/stem cell technologies); interdisciplinary collaboration in big science; public risk perception; laboratory practices; and science activism. Administrative roles include directing the postgraduate taught program and co-convening third-year dissertation modules.
