Jamie Jensen

Jamie Jensen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at Cal Poly Humboldt, where they have been faculty since 2008. Jensen holds a BASW, MSW (both from Cal Poly Humboldt), an MA in Human Development, and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems. Their office is located in Room 544 of the Behavioral & Social Sciences building.

Jensen's research focuses on innovative approaches to aging in rural communities, organizational inclusivity, and cultural safety. Their professional expertise spans:

• Aging and social gerontology
• Program development and community planning
• Healthcare systems (medical social work, care management)
• Group dynamics and family caregiving

They integrate this into teaching micro/macro practice, community systems, and field practicum.

Beyond academia, Jensen founded and directs the Full Life Institute, developing strategies to enhance well-being for older adults. They also consult for social services and healthcare organizations, focusing on dismantling systemic barriers to equity.
