Jami Nelson-Nuñez is an Associate Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Political Science at the University of New Mexico. She specializes in Comparative Politics, Public Policy, and Methodology. Her research focuses on the politics of service provision in developing countries, particularly water and health, NGOs, and local governance in Latin America.

Research Interests: Dr. Nelson-Nuñez examines challenges in extending basic services to the poor, NGO-government collaboration, and decentralized governance. She has conducted fieldwork in Peru, Bolivia, and Honduras on water and sanitation infrastructure sustainability.
