James Pustejovsky is the TJX Feldberg Professor of Computer Science and a key figure at the Volen National Center for Complex Systems at Brandeis University. He is affiliated with the Michtom School of Computer Science and serves as Chair of the Interdepartmental Program in Linguistics and Computational Linguistics, as well as Director of the Lab for Linguistics and Computation.

His research focuses on Computational Linguistics, Lexical Semantics, and Generative Lexicon Theory, with significant contributions to temporal/spatial reasoning (TimeML, ISO-Space) and machine learning applications in language annotation.
Recent recognition includes being named an ACL Fellow 2024 by the Association for Computational Linguistics. He has also received support through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in 1978-1979.
