About
James Pace is Professor Emeritus and former CAS Distinguished Professor of Visual Art at the University of Texas at Tyler, where he taught from 1985 until retirement. His distinguished career includes recognition through the Oge' Professorship, White Fellowship for Teaching Excellence, Piper Professor nomination, Regents' Fellow distinction, and Chancellor's Council Teaching Award. An accomplished artist, Pace exhibits nationally and internationally across multiple media including paintings, drawings, prints, and mixed media works.
Pace holds an MFA from Arizona State University and BFA from the University of Oklahoma. His work is represented in significant collections including the Nelson-Atkins Museum, Fogg Art Museum, and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. He maintains an active studio practice in East Texas and regularly serves as juror, lecturer, and visiting artist at institutions worldwide.
