Dr James Munro is a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, The University of Melbourne. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and specializes in international trade and investment law. His roles include legal work at the World Trade Organization (WTO), advising on international trade litigation, and serving as principal legal counsel to Australia’s Anti-Dumping Commission.
His professional experience includes policy reform advising for the Australian Government, free trade agreement negotiations, and treaty negotiations on trade and environment. He teaches three core courses in the Melbourne Law Masters: International Trade Remedies Law, The Law of Economics and Globalisation, and Law of Export Controls and Trade Sanctions.
Dr Munro has contributed peer-reviewed research on international trade and investment law, focusing on dispute resolution mechanisms, trade remedies, and the intersection of trade with environmental policies.
