James Leonhardt

James Leonhardt is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Nevada, Reno, holding the Phil and Jennifer Satre Professorship. He is affiliated with the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies and has served as a Visiting Scholar at SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Adolfo Ibáñez University. With expertise in cross-cultural consumer behavior and digital marketing, he bridges marketing strategies with transformative initiatives in health, sustainability, and public policy.

His research focuses on cross-cultural consumer information processing using interdisciplinary, multi-method approaches. Recent publications analyze linguistic features in social media, vaccination acceptance, and digital exchange dynamics.

Dr. Leonhardt has received the Dean’s Research Professor Award (2021-2023) and the Phil & Jennifer Satre Endowed Professorship (2023). He was honored with the Willem Houwink Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence (2020) and the College of Business Excellence in Teaching Award (2019).

He supervises independent study projects and contributes to marketing ethics education through the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative. His work has been supported by grants from the Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation and the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies.

Dr. Leonhardt is actively involved in international research collaborations, serves on the Editorial Board of academic journals, and consults with organizations to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. He also volunteered as an instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
