James L. Beck is the George W. Housner Professor of Engineering and Applied Science, Emeritus at Caltech, with joint appointments in Computing and Mathematical Sciences and Mechanical and Civil Engineering. His research develops theory and algorithms for stochastic system modeling, uncertainty propagation, and Bayesian updating of dynamic systems.
