James Jimenez

James Jimenez is a Professor of Practice at the University of New Mexico’s School of Public Administration. He specializes in government administration, nonprofit governance, and public policy. With extensive leadership experience, he has served in state government roles such as Chief of Staff to Governor Bill Richardson, Cabinet Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration, and City Manager of Rio Rancho. He also held positions at the Legislative Finance Committee and New Mexico Voices for Children.

Education: B.A. in Economics and M.P.A. from the University of New Mexico. His teaching focuses on state government administration, public budgeting, and nonprofit governance. He has advised students on practicum requirements and contributed to curricula in public administration and social work programs.

Jimenez has served on nonprofit boards and previously taught at New Mexico Highlands University. His expertise spans public sector management, legislative processes, and economic policy analysis.
