James Cook is Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Letters & Science. His research spans medicinal chemistry, natural products synthesis, and drug discovery.
His group develops novel compounds targeting CNS disorders including anxiety, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease, with emphasis on GABA receptor subtypes.
