James Connor

James Connor is a Professor at Penn State University, affiliated with the Departments of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics. His research focuses on brain iron metabolism, neurodegeneration, and sex-specific differences in glioblastoma.

His recent projects include investigating the role of iron in glioblastoma survival, the impact of HFE gene variants on Alzheimer's susceptibility, and sexual dimorphism in iron metabolism. He holds grants from the National Institute on Aging, National Cancer Institute, and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

He was awarded the Excellence in Career Mentoring Award in 2022. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being, particularly for neurodegenerative diseases and pediatric brain cancers.
