Jaewoo Kim is an Associate Professor of Accounting and coordinator of the Accounting PhD Program at the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business. He holds the Stewart Distinguished Faculty title and is a Booth Research Scholar. His research focuses on capital markets, financial reporting quality, and tax accounting. Kim earned his PhD from the University of Iowa (2013), MBA from KAIST (2002), and BA from Korea University (2000). Prior to joining the University of Oregon, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester (2013–2019).
Research Interests: Kim explores topics such as SPAC mergers' impact on financial reporting, tax avoidance strategies, and the role of earnings announcements in market volatility. His work bridges accounting theory with practical applications in corporate finance and governance.
