Jacqui McLaughlin, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Director of CIPhER (Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research). She holds a B.S. in Biological Engineering from North Carolina State University, an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Memphis/University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University. Her postdoctoral fellowship was conducted at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy's Office of Strategic Planning and Assessment (OSPA).
Her research focuses on higher education topics including admissions processes, flipped classroom methodologies, experiential education, diversity initiatives, graduate training programs, cognitive apprenticeship models, and design thinking applications. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and serves on editorial boards for Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning, Education in the Health Professions, and as Associate Editor for BMC Medical Education.
Dr. McLaughlin leads CIPhER, a center dedicated to advancing pharmacy education through innovative research and pedagogical strategies. Her work emphasizes translating educational research into practical applications for health professions training.
