Jacques Huot

Jacques Huot is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics and Forensic Science at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres (UQTR), specializing in hydrogen storage materials and metal-hydrogen interactions.

Professor Huot's research focuses on fundamental understanding of metal-hydrogen systems, particularly metal hydrides for industrial hydrogen storage applications. He investigates synthesis of low-cost hydrides, hydrogen storage properties in nanomaterials and severely deformed materials, hydrogen diffusion mechanisms, and hydrogen's impact on metallic coatings. His expertise encompasses advanced materials characterization using neutron scattering and synchrotron radiation techniques.

He teaches specialized courses including Hydrogen as an Energy Vector (ENG6004), Hydrogen and Metals (ENG6006), and Materials Science (NRG6000), while supervising Master's and doctoral students through thesis seminars and examinations.
