About
Luc Aymard is a Senior Lecturer (Maître de Conférences) at the Laboratoire de Réactivité et Chimie des Solides (LRCS), Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France. He is an active member of the CNU college B, section 33, and leads a research group focused on energy storage materials, particularly metal hydrides and silicon-based anodes for Li-ion batteries.
Education:
- Post-doctoral fellowship, NIMCR Tsukuba, Japan (1995) – supervisor Dr. F. Ikazaki
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Université de Picardie Jules Verne (1994) – Thesis Director Prof. M. Figlarz
- DEA in Spectroscopy, Université de Lille 1 (1990)
Research Interests: Since 2005, his work has centered on the synthesis and electrochemical characterization of metal hydrides as negative electrodes for Li-ion batteries. He explores reactive mechanosynthesis, composite formulation, and the impact of binders and processing techniques on battery performance. His research also covers solid-gas hydrogen storage, organic electrode materials, and advanced characterization methods.
Research Projects: He coordinated the ANR-funded project NANOHYDLI (2009–2013) and an EADS-funded program (2012–2014), both focused on next-generation battery materials.
Collaborations & Supervision: He has advised and collaborated with numerous students and researchers including Mariama Ndour, Thibaut Chartrel, Hassen Jaafar, and AE Lakraychi, among others.
Laboratory: His work is conducted at the LRCS, a leading French laboratory in energy storage research, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for materials synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing.
