Jacques Amar

Jacques Amar is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Toledo, specializing in computational materials science and surface physics. He earned his PhD from Temple University in 1985.

Research focuses on:

• Nanoscale kinetics and thin film growth
• Epitaxial growth mechanisms
• Semiconductor defect diffusion

Honors include IEEE fellowships and the IET Heaviside Medal. Recent publications examine diffusion mechanisms in CdTe and submonolayer growth kinetics.
