Research interests include materials science innovations for sustainable technologies, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) methodology, and nanoscale engineering of transition metal nitrides and 2D materials.
Recent publications examine epitaxial growth mechanisms, defect superstructuring in refractory nitrides, and novel 2D noble metal synthesis. The work on 'goldene' represents groundbreaking research in single-atom-layer materials.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Projects on Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) 100 List
- Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE) funding
Has contributed to developing advanced semiconductor transistors and exposing XPS calibration limitations in materials analysis.
