Jacquelyn Knapp is a Professor of Art and Coordinator of the Art Department at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO), where she has served since 1988 (full-time since 1998). She holds an M.F.A. in Sculpture/Drawing from Texas A&M University (1993) and a B.A. in Sculpture/Drawing from USAO (1987).
Her research interests focus on sculpture, drawing, and art education, with significant contributions to public art installations and community initiatives. She directs the 3rd Floor Gallery, organizes events like the Montmartre Chalk Art Festival, and coordinates art-centered trips to New York and Europe. Knapp advises Teacher Education Candidates in Art, Sculpture, and related disciplines.
Her awards include the 2015 Juror's Choice Award for 'Vortex' and a 2003 Excellence Award from the Oklahoma Art Guild. She has held scholarships from Texas A&M and the Oklahoma Arts Institute. Knapp is actively involved in professional organizations, serving on the boards of the Oklahoma Art Education Association and Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition.
