Jacob Olsen

Jacob Olsen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling at California State University, Long Beach, within the College of Education. He serves as the Coordinator of the School Counseling program and is based in office AS 229.

His research centers on the integration of comprehensive school counseling programs with culturally responsive and sustaining multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). His work emphasizes equity, anti-racist practices, and systemic alignment in K-12 education.

The recent publications and presentations highlight a strong focus on MTSS implementation, data use, Tier 2 interventions, mental health support, and anti-racist program development. His scholarly output consistently addresses equity, prevention, and practical strategies for school counselors.
