Jackie Rayner is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Business & New Technologies at the Manchester Fashion Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University. Her role integrates academic and industry experience to teach business students about product development, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
She holds a BA(Hons) in Fashion Design from the University of Westminster and an MDes in Fashion Design from the Royal College of Art. Prior to academia, she worked as a designer in Germany, design director in the UK, and in global supply chain consulting.
Research focuses on digitization (AI/VR/AR) in fashion supply chains, ethical production, sustainable sourcing, and immersive technologies in education. She has presented at Tech Fests at MMU/Sheffield Hallam (2019) and GLAD conference (2019), advocating for pedagogical innovation with 3D technologies.
Her work emphasizes holistic approaches to industry challenges, blending technology with sustainability goals to address issues like overconsumption and unethical practices.
