Dr. Jack Ogutu is the Chairperson of the Department of Applied Engineering, Safety & Technology at Millersville University and holds the N.C. Adams ’73 and W.G. Adams Endowed Professorship for Occupational Safety & Environmental Health. He oversees the NIOSH Training Program Grant at the university and serves as a commissioner and accreditation visit team chair for ABET-ANSAC.
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (University of Nairobi, 2004); MS and PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering (Auburn University, 2013), with a focus on Occupational Safety & Ergonomics.
Research interests include occupational ergonomics, biomechanics, risk assessments, and system safety analysis. His work bridges engineering and safety, emphasizing practical applications in workplace health and environmental systems.
