Jack Middelburg

Jack Middelburg is a Professor of Geochemistry at Utrecht University's Earth Sciences department, holding this position since 2009. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Biogeochemistry at Gent University (2001–2009) and as Head of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (2005–2009). His research focuses on geochemical processes in sedimentary systems, oceanography, and limnology with significant contributions to biogeochemical cycles.
