JK Aier is Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Global Engagement and an Associate Professor of Accounting in the Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University. In these roles he oversees all academic programs and student support services, directs four centers of excellence, and spearheads the college’s global initiatives.

Across his publications, a clear thematic focus emerges on the intersection of governance, debt contracting, and financial disclosure. His work repeatedly examines how board structures, fiduciary duties, and managerial traits affect accounting conservatism and the information environment available to capital-market participants.

Professional Service: He serves as a member of the Cost Accounting Standards Board within the U.S. Office of Management and Budget and has held editorial or review roles for numerous peer-reviewed accounting journals.
