J. Phil Gibson

J. Phil Gibson is a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on two primary areas: STEM pedagogy and evolutionary plant ecology. He leads initiatives to develop active-learning resources such as podcasts, case studies, and laboratory modules aligned with Universal Design for Learning principles. His plant ecology research explores heterocarpy in Grindelia species and the reproductive strategies of Alnus maritima (seaside alder). Gibson holds a PhD from the University of Colorado, an MS from the University of Georgia, and a BS from Oklahoma State University.
