Ivy Roberts

Ivy Roberts is a Professor of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design, specializing in cinema and media studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Media, Art, and Text from Virginia Commonwealth University, an M.A. in Film Studies & Culture from Antioch University, and a B.A. in Film/Video Studies/Cultural History from Marlboro College.

Her research explores the intersections of media history, technology, and cultural narratives, with particular focus on science fiction, visual culture, and 19th-20th century media innovations. She investigates how technological developments shape cultural imagination and narrative forms.

Roberts has received multiple teaching fellowships and honors including the Chancellor's Teaching Fellowship and Phi Kappa Phi recognition. Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on historical media technologies and their cultural impacts.
