Ivanna Maria Velisone is a doctoral student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University, concurrently serving as a Professor of Latin American Art History at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT) since 2022. She also works as a Curatorial Assistant at the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) since 2021. Her academic background includes a B.A. in History from UTDT and an M.A. in Latin American Art History from the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM), supported by a CONICET fellowship.
Her research focuses on Latin American visual culture, modern/contemporary art, interdisciplinary practices, and gender studies. Notable projects include analyzing German-Argentinean photographer Annemarie Heinrich’s work on photography, gender performance, and modernity. She has held research internships at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice) and the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.
Ivanna has received the PLAS Lassen Fellowship and led undergraduate seminars such as “8M: Feminismos, imágenes y revolución” at UTDT. Her work bridges art history, feminism, and interdisciplinary methodologies.
