Ivan Samardžić

Ivan Samardžić is a Full Professor with a permanent position at the Department of Technologies, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Slavonski Brod. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (1996) and a Master's degree in the same field (1991). His career spans academic and industrial roles, including leadership in welding technology research and education.

His research focuses on welding engineering, materials science, and quality assurance, particularly in welded joints and pressure vessel integrity. He has developed innovative welding parameter monitoring systems and contributed to domestic welding technology standards.

Prof. Samardžić actively participates in postgraduate teaching at both the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka. He has coordinated professional practice programs for undergraduate mechanical engineering students.

He leads the Department of Technologies since 2001 and maintains strong ties with industry through cooperation projects with Đuro Đaković Factory and international collaborations. Fluent in English and German, he has extensive experience in welding parameter control and weldability studies.
