Itamar Megiddo

Dr. Itamar Megiddo is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Department of Management Science at the University of Strathclyde, part of the Strathclyde Business School. His interdisciplinary research focuses on healthcare policy and systems modeling, leveraging tools from epidemiology, economics, and computer science. He holds a PhD in Management Science from the University of Strathclyde and economics degrees from McGill University. His work addresses global health challenges, including infectious and non-communicable diseases, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. Key areas include antimicrobial resistance policy, health systems strengthening, and pandemic response strategies like those for COVID-19.

Dr. Megiddo has contributed to over 65 publications, including peer-reviewed articles on agent-based modeling, system dynamics, and hybrid simulation frameworks. His research has been supported by grants such as the JARSS Research Excellence Award and the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). He has received prestigious awards including the 2022 EURO Prize for OR for the Common Good (Finalist) and the 2016 OR Society Doctoral Award.

Professional activities include roles as a Visiting Researcher at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (Singapore), and contributions to initiatives like the Scottish Government’s Value Based Health & Care Group.
