István Nemeth

István Nemeth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dutch Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Károli Gáspár Reformed University. With a distinguished career spanning art history and Dutch cultural studies, he has established himself as a leading scholar in Netherlandish art history, particularly focusing on 17th century Dutch painting and Dutch cultural history.

Nemeth's research primarily centers on Dutch and Netherlandish art history, with special emphasis on 17th century Dutch genre painting, iconography, and museum studies. He has made significant contributions to understanding Dutch still life painting, portraiture, and the cultural context of art collecting.
