Dr. Isabella Ye is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism & Events at the University of Greenwich's Faculty of Business, School of Management and Marketing, where she also serves as Programme Leader for BA International Tourism & Hospitality Management. She joined in January 2022 after completing her Ph.D. in Tourism Management at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her doctoral research explored cultural influences on visitor experiences in Australian national parks.
Her research focuses on geopolitics of cross-border mobilities, socio-spatial bordering processes, and critical approaches to tourism and hospitality studies. She employs interdisciplinary frameworks including post-humanism and liminality theory to examine nature-based heritage sites.
Dr. Ye is an advocate for pedagogical innovation, specializing in game-based learning techniques like Escape Box Game and LEGO Serious Play®. She holds professional affiliations with the Association for Tourism in Higher Education, Institute of Hospitality, and Council for Hospitality Management Education.
