Isabel Durocher is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Loyola University New Orleans, affiliated with the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences and the Department of Languages and Cultures. She advises Spanish Minors and serves as Chair-Adviser and Honorary Member of the National Spanish Honors Society Sigma Delta Pi.

Her research focuses on Transatlantic Studies, the Fantastic genre, Surrealism in Latin America and Spain, Film Studies, and visual arts. She specializes in Latin American and Spanish literature, film, and cultural studies, particularly examining works by Jorge Luis Borges and intersections of language, art, and cinema.
Dr. Durocher was recognized with the 2016 Excellence in Teaching Award. She teaches Spanish language at all levels and courses on Latin American literature, civilization, and film, including topics like Chicano and Iberian cinema, youth representations, and Gothic narratives.
