Isaac Sabat

Isaac Sabat, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston, where he directs the Cougar PRIDE Lab. His research focuses on improving workplace experiences for stigmatized employees through identity expression strategies.

• Education: Ph.D. & M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University
• Education: B.A. in Psychology from Rice University

Dr. Sabat's research examines how workplace obstacles related to sexual orientation, race, gender identity, disability, and intersectional stigmas can be addressed through evidence-based interventions. His work analyzes the effectiveness of identity disclosure strategies under varying visibility conditions of stigmas, challenging traditional binary conceptualizations.

Recent publications focus on workplace discrimination frameworks, identity integration benefits, and interventions for marginalized groups in STEM. His work appears in journals like Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Harvard Business Review.

As director of the Cougar PRIDE Lab, he investigates prejudice remediation and identity dynamics in professional environments. He is currently accepting students for Fall 2025 research collaborations.
