Iryna Struk

Iryna Struk serves as Clinical Assistant Professor and Interim Department Chair in the Department of Diagnostic Medical Imaging at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University's College of Health Professions, where she has held faculty positions since 2014.

Education:

• Bachelor of Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Magna Cum Laude, SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University
• Master of Science in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology, University at Albany

Her research focuses on clinical ultrasound applications across vascular, abdominal, musculoskeletal, and obstetrics/gynecology domains. Current investigations examine racial/ethnic diversity in sonography professions, ultrasound-based liver volumetry techniques, and placental location correlations with maternal-fetal outcomes through active collaborations with Downstate's Physical Therapy and OB/GYN departments.

As an educator, she delivers comprehensive instruction in Cross-sectional Anatomy of the Thorax and Head, General Sonography I/II, Vascular Sonography, Scanning Skills, Case Presentations, and Vascular Principles and Instrumentation, while her funded research advances clinical ultrasound practice and educational methodologies.
