Irina Reyfman

Irina Reyfman is a Professor in the Department of Slavic Languages at Columbia University. Her research focuses on Russian literature of the 18th and 19th centuries, cultural history, semiotics of culture, censorship, and the socio-political status of writers in Russia. She is renowned for her co-translation of Alexander Radishchev’s Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow (2020) and co-authorship of A History of Russian Literature (2018).

Recent accolades include the AATSEEL Award for Best Literary Translation (2020) and recognition for her scholarly contributions.
