Irene Zoppi is a Researcher and Technical Research Collaborator at the National Institute for Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research (Indire) since 2015. She holds a degree in Art History from the University of Florence, with a thesis in History of Photography. Since 2018, she also serves as a teaching tutor at the IUL Telematic University in historical disciplinary sectors.
Her research focuses on the valorization of historical heritage, particularly analyzing documentation in Indire’s historical archive—encompassing books, educational aids, and 19th- and 20th-century materials—with emphasis on photographic and iconographic records. Her interests extend to the history of schooling, digital humanities (e.g., technology applications for online research and databases), and the use of historical sources in education. She collaborates with institutions like the Alinari Archives, Archivio Scala, and the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo’s historical archive.
Zoppi curates digital content and exhibitions of educational and cultural interest, and has authored publications in national and international journals. Her work bridges archival preservation, pedagogy, and the integration of historical materials into modern teaching practices.
