Ingo Offermanns

Ingo Offermanns is a Professor of Graphic Art and Vice President at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg), overseeing International and Diversity initiatives. He studied painting at the Akademie der bildenden Künste München (1994–1998) and earned an MFA in Typography from Werkplaats Typografie, Arnheim (2001). Before joining HFBK Hamburg, he taught at institutions like ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Netherlands) and Carnegie Mellon University (USA). His work focuses on graphic design, book arts, and print media, blending artistic practice with academic leadership.

As Vice President, Offermanns drives international collaborations and diversity initiatives. His professional career includes independent design work for museums and publishers globally. Research interests emphasize visual language, typography, and the intersection of art with cultural narratives.

He has co-organized events such as the Graduate Show 2025 and symposia like 'Cine*Ami*es: On Friendship with Film,' reflecting his commitment to fostering artistic communities. His roles also include overseeing exhibitions and academic programs at HFBK Hamburg.
