Indulata Prasad

Dr. Indulata Prasad is an Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies in Arizona State University's School of Social Transformation. Her research examines caste, gender, and land rights in South Asia through methodologies including ethnography, social mapping, and oral history. Awarded the 2021 Bluestone Rising Scholar Prize for her work mapping untouchability dynamics in rural Bihar, she investigates how land redistribution impacts Dalit communities.

Her scholarship spans Dalit Studies, social movements, and feminist methodologies, with recent publications analyzing caste representations in contemporary film, Dalit ecologies, and pandemic impacts on informal laborers. Dr. Prasad's fieldwork in Bihar, India documents how legal rights to redistributed land transform Dalit lives and social standing.
