Imran Rasul

Imran Rasul is Professor of Economics at University College London, Director of the ESRC Institute for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and Co-Director of the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Centre on Wealth Concentration, Inequality and the Economy. He is also Co-President of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development.

His research spans labor economics, development economics, and public economics, focusing on empirical analysis of policy interventions in low-income settings. Key areas include job search dynamics, racial/ethnic disparities in sentencing, bureaucratic performance, and early childhood development programs.

His recent work includes studies on pandemic-related economic impacts, post-conflict trust dynamics, and government analytics using task completion data. Publications appear in top journals like the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Econometrica.
