Ilka Kressner is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies at the University at Albany, SUNY, affiliated with the Languages, Literatures & Cultures and Africana, Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies departments. She holds the LLC Chair and focuses on Latin American and Latinx cultural production.
Education:
- PhD in Comparative Literature, University of Virginia
Her research spans environmental humanities, ecofeminisms, intermediality, and ecocritical frameworks, interrogating colonial/neocolonial ecological concepts. She has published on non-spaces in Latin American cinema, slow violence, and anti-colonial resistance narratives.
