Ilias Alami

Dr. Ilias Alami is Assistant Professor in the Political Economy of Development at the Centre of Development Studies and Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Cambridge. He has held prior academic positions at Uppsala University, Maastricht University, Manchester University, and visiting roles at the Getulio Vargas Foundation, University of Johannesburg, and Sciences Po Paris.

His research focuses on the political economy of development, with particular attention to global governance structures, economic policy, and international relations. His work bridges interdisciplinary approaches to understanding development trajectories in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Dr. Alami is affiliated with the Alison Richard Building at Cambridge and contributes to postgraduate education through teaching and supervision. He is associated with the university's broader research initiatives in political thought, development studies, and interdisciplinary gender studies.
