Ilene Strauss is a Clinical Associate Professor of Law and the Director of Writing and Lawyering Programs at Fordham University School of Law. She teaches both introductory and advanced legal writing and lawyering skills to diverse audiences.

Her research focuses on legal writing pedagogy and lawyering skills development. She co-founded the Paralegal Pathways Initiative, which provides legal training to formerly incarcerated individuals to amplify their voices.
Prior to Fordham, she directed legal writing and moot court programs at Columbia Law School and practiced commercial litigation at prominent firms like Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler LLP and Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP. She also clerked for Judge Emilio M. Garza of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
