Janet Fiorentino is a Legal Writing Instructor at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law since 2018, previously serving as an adjunct from 2013. She teaches Lawyering Process and Moot Court, and has supported Jump/Fresh Start students. Affiliated with the Legal Writing Institute, she co-developed the UDC Writing Hub offering workshops and mentorship. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Pepperdine University and a J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law (1997).
Professional memberships include the California State Bar Association (since 1997), American Bar Association, and roles as a Family Law Mediator and Small Claims Advisor. She has adjudicated the National Moot Court Competition in Child Welfare & Adoption Law. Prior roles include Assistant Professor at Ashford University’s Forbes School of Business and teaching in Paralegal Studies programs.
Her career spans freelance legal work (brief drafting, landlord-tenant support) and creative writing (young adult novels via Kindle Direct Publishing). She remains active in legal education and community legal services.
