Dr. Ibrahim Muradov is a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC), serving concurrently as Head’s Assistant to UBC’s Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies. He holds a Ph.D., MA, and BA from Middle East Technical University and Ankara University, respectively. His research focuses on armed conflicts in former Soviet republics, particularly Ukraine, with emphasis on hybrid warfare, international security, and peacekeeping. Dr. Muradov’s work examines Ukraine’s agency in resisting Russian aggression and its geopolitical implications.

He authored foundational textbooks on Eurasian studies and peace/conflict studies, while his SSHRC-funded postdoctoral research explores Ukrainian agency in resisting Russian invasion.
