Ian Woolsey

Dr. Ian Woolsey is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Sociology and MRes in Social Science at the Sheffield Hallam University, within the Department of Sociology under the College of Social Sciences and Arts. He has been employed at Hallam since 2006, initially as a researcher before transitioning to his current role. His research focuses on football fan identity, belonging, aesthetics, and morality, with notable works including his 2021 book applying Bauman's social spacing theory to travelling supporters and a 2010 study on simulated football hooliganism.
