About
Martin Coggin is a Lecturer at the School of Health and Social Care within the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. He also practices clinically as a charge nurse in critical care. Having graduated from the same institution in 2015 with a degree in adult nursing, he returned to Sheffield Hallam to pursue academia, drawn by both the university and the city. His teaching focuses include Science for Professional Practice and Leading and Co-ordinating Person Centred Care.
His research interests emphasize the scientific underpinnings of nursing practice, particularly the cardiac system. Outside academia, he balances fatherhood with hobbies like exploring the Peak District, enjoying TV series, and occasional football fandom (despite a career-ending knee injury).
