Dr Ian Wilson is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, in the Department of Biomedical, Biological and Analytical Sciences (BBAS) within the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). His career includes post-doctoral research at Michigan State University, research/teaching fellowships at the University of Nottingham, and roles at the University of Malaya and Bristol University before joining UWE in 2007. He currently manages the Premedical Sciences programme and holds collaborative ties with the University of Osijek and University of Exeter.

- BSc (Hons) in Plant Sciences, University of Nottingham (1987)
- PhD in Molecular Biology of Cold-Induced Pome Fruit Ripening, University of Nottingham (1991)
Research Interests: Focuses on molecular biology and genetics underlying plant cell signalling, particularly in fruit ripening and environmental stress responses. Utilizes molecular biology and functional genomics approaches. Has contributed to over £2 million in grant income as PI/co-applicant.
